Design of Shared Public Spaces
The Grand Palais / Palais de la Découverte redevelopment project encompasses the design of furniture, signage, and the layout of spaces dedicated to welcoming the public, including the ticket office and bookstores / gift shops, as well as auditoriums and art mediation workshops. It also addresses the surrounding area with the creation of a common entrance for all visitors. A new central space, a unifying point between the Grand Palais and the Palais de la Découverte, will foster interaction among different audiences and enhance the flow between the various activities offered.
For this redevelopment, an interdisciplinary team, composed of Atelier Senzu (architecture), Samy Rio (designer), and 2×4 (signage design firm), has come together around a strong ecological commitment: sourcing natural materials. Their transformation and arrangement will be the components of an intervention that serves the overall identity of the Grand Palais-Palais de la Découverte.
This combination of expertise will allow the project management team to develop a cross-disciplinary vision in order to design a unique project dedicated to a unique visitor experience.
